Objects
I’m interested in remembering objects and giving them new qualities and associations during the painting process. A stone may become soft and fleshy, a house may grow ruffles, and familiar forms start to behave in humanly ways.
I am interested in how objects feel rather than how they appear. Through this process, everyday things become strange, humorous, vulnerable, or alive. The boundary between object, body, landscape, and imagination begins to dissolve.
Many of these transformations happen without planning. They emerge through the act of painting itself, as one shape suggests another and the image gradually develops its own internal logic.
