“Apfelesser guter Küsser?”
(Appleeater, Good Kisser?) 16mm shortfilms
“Appleeater, Good Kisser?” is an ongoing 16mm film series inspired by an old Austrian childhood myth: Can you tell if someone is a good kisser by the way they eat an apple?
A group of men, all dressed in the same shade of red, eat apples in front of the camera — a simple yet sensual gesture that becomes a playful study of intimacy and expression.
The project explores the subtle differences in behavior and reflects on how everyday actions can reveal something about desire, self-control, and vulnerability. The uniform red clothing creates a visual thread that connects the scenes and evokes both togetherness and anonymity.
It is an ongoing series consisting of several chapters filmed in different places: Vienna, in the countryside of Upper Austria, during Artist Residencies in Marseille and in Tokyo. Each location adding its own cultural and atmospheric layer to the exploration of intimacy and gesture.
